2. History of the Southern Women's Museum in Saigon

The Southern Women’s Museum was originally the Traditional House of Southern Women. It was founded in 1985 to honor the legacy of Vietnamese women and inspire future generations. Within just one year, the small 200m² traditional house welcomed over 100,000 visitors. Realizing the need for a larger space, construction of a new museum began in 1986. In 1990, the Southern Women’s Museum was inaugurated. Today, it manages 44,108 artifacts and over 12,000 documents, ranging from revolutionary memorabilia to cultural treasures. It was also the first museum in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce 3D/360° virtual exhibitions.
