10/05/2025 104.212

Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park is a popular green space in Ho Chi Minh City, offering a tranquil escape from the urban bustle. Here, visitors can enjoy scenic walks, join the locals in outdoor activities, and more.

1. A glance at Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park

1.1. Location

Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park is one of the great places to visit in Ho Chi Minh City for those seeking both entertainment and relaxation. Located at 875 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, District 10, this park is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Le Thi Rieng Park is the “green lung” of the city

Covering 8 hectares, with 80% of the area filled with greenery - including grassy hills, old trees, flower beds, and a willow-lined lake the park offers a natural space for both locals and tourists looking to unwind right in the heart of the bustling city.

1.2. History

Before becoming the “green lung" of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park was once Do Thanh Cemetery, which served mostly working-class residents before 1975. During wartime, there were many unnamed graves here, especially those of fallen soldiers without relatives. As part of an urban development plan, the cemetery was cleared in 1983 to create what is now Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park. A statue of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva at the cemetery’s entrance was relocated to Quan Am Monastery in Dong Nai Province.
